I hardly know how to say this.

I've just come from a meeting with the Lord Protector himself. Barty was there, too, and so was the Headmaster, Desai, Glozeman...

He wanted to know the ways in which I was like Rabastan. I said that it was hard to say, as he didn't raise me, but that I was sure many of my talents probably owed themselves to the Lestrange bloodline. Then he asked me what my talents were. I said "All aspects of stage craft, event planning, fostering cooperation and communication amongst others, delegating responsibilities..." things like that, though I don't remember what all I said. It's a bit of a blur now.

Anyway, after that he said: "Let's have this marriage begin in earnest. I'll officiate here, this evening, after supper."

So. It would seem I'm to be married tonight?

I don't know. I mean, He didn't say if I should invite my parents so I don't know if I ought to?

Oh, and what will I wear? Hyperion isn't finished with his design, I'm sure.

Where will we get champagne from?

Are they letting you run off to New London for a day to buy dress robes, or are you supposed to wear something you already have? Pansy and I can help, if you need people to watch you try things on.

Wear comfortable shoes, I think they're always a good idea at weddings.

At least you'll have your school friends here with you. I think everyone will be very proud and pleased to see their Head Girl married.

Well all sorts of designers have been sending me sample dress robes. Rossignol, Joosh, Fairchild... I suppose we can just pick the best one and I'll wear that? It will likely need a little alteration, though.

And I've been known to get a number of things delivered via Owl on short notice. Bouquets, champagne, what else?

Comfortable shoes? Oh no. No. I wouldn't be caught dead in the abominations known as "comfortable shoes." That's what cushioning charms are for.

Alterations are no problem. I mean, I'm very good at those, or possibly you could just have a proper dressmaker come in.

I don't know if they'll let just anyone waltz in here while the Lord Protector is here. Security protocol, and all. That's why I'm not sure if I can have my parents come, either.

Well in that case I am at your disposal whenever you'd like to try on dresses and have them fitted to you.

Nearly all my nice clothes are cast-offs from Pansy (or one of my other friends) and as you may have noticed we are proportioned rather differently, so I've had a lot of practice. A professional dressmaker would do it more efficiently but I think no one will look and know it was an amateur job fitting it to you.

I know it wasn't what you had in mind. But we can make do.

I can help with the champagne. I've been networking with some of the other winemakers and distributors, and can call in some rather large favours. I'm sure they'd fall all over themselves to help.

And we'll see what sort of spellwork we can use to decorate the Great Hall, I can get the other Slytherin girls to help.

I can show you our catalog from the wedding line too -- we contract with Powell's, and have some favours and reception decorations we could send along quite quickly if you like the look of any of them.

And we can give you a rather impressive fireworks display, too.

Daphne, while we're at it, any thoughts about music during and music and dancing after? I'm not sure I can pull a band, or even if they'd be able to come given security, but I can make inquiries, and barring that, Sue and I can put together a list of appropriate songs to play from our respective record collections.

Having records on hand is probably the best we can do. We don't even know if there will be a dance or celebration after the ceremony. The LP might have something entirely different in mind.
